Dimension One Spas recently began a new national radio campaign on the Roger Hedgecock Show based in San Diego, California. Roger interviewed Bob Hallam, the owner of Dimension One Spas, to discuss their philosophy on quality, style and comfort, (among other things). I have known Bob myself for over 20 years and thought you might enjoy the interview. Click here to listen.

It’s time to consider a preventative maintenance tip the next time you drain and re-fill your spa. The burnt spot on this circuit board is not very common, but it occasionally happens; and the most common reason for this? Loose connections on the circuit which can cause “electrical chatter”. The electricity flow is not consistent and the connection gets hot; causing the burnt spot on the board. To quote Benjamin Franklin: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
To help prevent a burnt spot and save the cost of a new pc board:
- Turn off power to the spa at the gfci, (ground fault circuit interrupter / breaker box).
- Secure all the connections at the circuit board. Ring and fork connections should be snug, (but don’t over tighten). Male and female connections should be completely on. The terminals on the board should be clean so roughing them up a bit with sandpaper is always a good idea.
- Turn the power back on and confirm all the normal functions are operative on the upper control panel, (light, jets, etc.).
It’s Easy as that. Please call if you have any questions.

For those who live in harsh weather climates or have a spa located away from home, this new Spa Temp Monitoring System is a great idea. Ever worry a recent storm has shut down the power to your spa, but don’t want to brave the ice and snow at 2:00 am to find out? Simply mount the temperature probe in-line with water flow from your heater, wirelessly connect to your computer, set up a personal monitoring site, and you will receive email alerts on your computer and Smartphone if the water temperature drops below your pre-set level. We think this is a game-changing product for protecting your spa from Mother Nature’s Temperature Tantrums. Please call us for more information and ideas.

Spa Purge is our favorite product and we love to recommend it. While you can drain your spa water and clean the shell, cleaning out the plumbing was impossible until now. Spa Purge is a natural enzyme solution that removes the biofilm and “floaties” that sometimes appear in your water. You’ll immediately see the improvement after using Spa Purge. Use it every 1-2 years and always if you are taking over a spa from a previous owner. Click here for Spa Purge Instructions or watch our Spa Purge Video here.
Remember, you can call us anytime you have a question about your spa or water care.
As always, we appreciate your business.

In 1989 Dimension One Spas was the first manufacturer in the industry to introduce an ozone system in their spas. Since then, every spa company has followed and well over half of all new hot tubs include one. Starting with Crystal Pure, followed by UltraPure in 1997, and UltraPure Plus in 2007 Dimension One Spas has continued its leadership role. Not many people realize their ozone generators should be replaced every 2 years to continue providing clear, clean water. And for spa owners who have forgotten the benefits of ozone, (or newer owners who never heard), this tip explains it for you. Click here to learn more.
Call us if you have any questions about getting your spa clean and ready for your “hot tub” nights.

Your filter is critical to clear, clean water and efficient spa performance. Luckily, taking care of your filter is easy and has a great payoff. At a recent industry trade show I learned of an inexpensive filter soak; 5 gallons of water and 1 cup of TSP, (available at any hardware or paint store). Soak for 2 hours and rinse thoroughly. It will break down the oils and lotions we bring into the spa, at a fraction of the cost of regular filter cleaners. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when working with this solution.

Beginning in 1997, most spas started using a circulation pump to move water through the heater and the ozonating systems. Over time, small amounts of debris can begin to clog the lines. Using a small compressor to blow out these lines can improve water flow, reliability, and the possibility of an annoying “flow error”.
We recommend this simple procedure be done every few of years. It costs you nothing and increases the reliability of your spa’s operation. Remember to keep the compressor setting at about 40 pounds. Higher pressures may cause problems to the internal plumbing. Click here to read more.

Phil Sandner here from Easy Spa Parts. Today, I want to talk to you about your spa cover, more specifically your hinge protector. Your what, you say?
We are proud to introduce a new feature found only on Easy Spa Parts covers; the 9″ Hinge Protector.
As you know, because the hinge is used every time your cover is opened, it tends to be one of the first things to wear out. All spa covers from Easy Spa Parts already include a full length heat seal to prevent heat loss through the hinge.
Over time, an EZ Lifter bar, or just plain wear and tear, can cause the top of the hinge to tear and allow rain water in from the top. We’ve designed a 9″ Hinge Protector to help extend the life of your cover. This 9″ strip of vinyl is sewn over the length of the hinge to help protect the fold from ice and snow too.
